Panorama® PremierPlus Warranty
Warranties are supposed to offer peace of mind. Now there is one that is actually winning bids. And only Official Panorama Dealers have it. The new Panorama® PremierPlus warranty program fully replaces a glass manufacturer’s warranty, and represents the most complete coverage in the industry.
The PremierPlus warranty not only applies to window film for more years than any other warranty available today, it also matches the window manufacturer’s warranty against seal failure, and provides ten years protection against glass breakage.
Dealers are embracing this warranty with open arms, telling us it is a competitive advantage that drives right to the core of customer concerns. By downloading the Panorama® PremierPlus Warranty Launch Kit today, you’ll give yourself a competitive edge and your customer’s true piece of mind.
No Room for Speculation
Whether you sign up for the Panorama® PremierPlus warranty (and receive complementary access), or whether you sign up independently, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the Specularis residential energy analysis and film selection tool. Installation success stories from coast to coast: Sunmasters in Portland, Maine
If you haven’t visited Portland, Maine yet, be sure to put it on your list. The Old Port District is complemented by immaculate architecture and a city-wide respect for history, balanced with a sprinkle of modern zest to enthrall tourists and residents alike. Preserving the views of the city's famous waterfront, and paying the winter heating bills, are two things folks in Maine take very seriously.
One of the largest buildings in this historic district, and home to some of the city’s largest commercial tenants faced some real discomforts due to aging windows. More than 25 years ago, the single-pane glass was covered with a film that had since turned a lovely shade of purple. It was so unsightly that the City’s Public Safety Department had inquired about the structural integrity of the building, as it appeared to have cracking glass on all floors. The building manager had to continuously defend the building’s appearance, reminding everyone that it was just peeling window film. Complicating matters further, certain sides of the building had such tremendous heat gain that chillers often ran in the dead of winter.
After a very competitive bid, Sunmasters was awarded the project of removing the old film and replacing it with newer technologies. Skip Baker’s team had to first chisel off thousands of square feet of baked-on film before applying Panorama Slate 10, the only film that met both the solar and energy needs of the building. A very savvy client, the contact knew his building well, and knew what he needed for solar reflectivity and energy savings; he even ran his own meter calculations. Against 3M and Madico, Panorama Slate 10 was the only film that showed any energy difference at all.
Removal of the old film had to be done at night, no exceptions. Sunmasters came in three weeks ahead of schedule, and the impact of their work was felt immediately: the chillers had to be reset throughout the building because the tenants were too cold.
The next time you’re in Portland, look to Middle Street in the Canal Plaza, and you may catch the building owners reflecting wisely on their decision, “The building looks brand new!”
Don’t forget: if you have a unique or challenging installation you’d like to share with Bekaert, the press and other dealers, please email us at bsf@matternow.com.
Under the Energy Policy Act of 2005, window film is considered an insulation material or system that is specifically and primarily designed to reduce heat loss or gain of a residence. This means that states that a 10% tax credit, not exceeding $500, may be provided to those individuals who buy qualified energy efficiency improvements.
What’s needed by Panorama customers to file for the credit?
- IRS tax Form 5695 – Residential Energy Credits (reference Part 1, 2a)
- Copy of official dealer invoice from installation occurring in 2006
- Copy of Bekaert certification statement (obtained through dealer)
We’ll save you some effort: the information, forms and links you and your customer need are on the Panorama website.
